It's Valentine's Day, again. The time of year when lovers scurry to get the perfect gift or plan the perfect event that expresses they are "in" love. As Hallmark and Godiva's cash registers overheat with sales, champagne bottles and roses are being delivered around the world. It's interesting how, as a culture, we set one day aside to show how much we love others. Can you imagine what life would be like, if instead of showing we are "in" love, we would simple "be" love?

Much has been said about 2012, and believe me, I've read or heard more than my fair share of it. Sure there is the inconvenient Apocalypse looming, the Mayan Calendar's prophesy of the end of times, the Last Testament 's prediction of doomsday, and the return of Jesus Christ. We also hear that the magnetic poles are shifting, and the solar flairs will burn up the world, unless the comet Nibiru gets here first. I recently read that the Mormon's are building a secret giant underground city, for only Mormons, of course. And the Jehovah's Witness are busily saving souls, before Armageddon, one door knock at a time. If you ask me, Armageddon sounds more like a potent energy drink. But I digressed. And of course, let's not forget: Nostradamus' Quatrain II.46 which warns us: It will rain blood, milk, famine, war and disease. In the sky will be seen a fire, dragging a tail of sparks.

The further I travel on this spiritual journey, the clearer things become. In fact, I've learned to love and come to cherish standing on the intersection of paradoxes. When I was completely unconscious, that is, unaware that there was even a spiritual journey, I believed in separation - in "twoness" - where there was a clear you and a distinct me. Yet, without believing in this separateness, which felt so real, I never would have experienced the discomfort that lead me to seek oneness.

Thank you for sharing your story, I said to Santa, the woman who cleaned my hotel room this morning. “Oh no, thank you for listening to my story, if feels good to be heard” she replied, as her brown eyes beamed back at me.

Sure, some of my clients are aware that they are on a spiritual journey, while others aren’t even aware of what that is. But the bottom line is that all of them are searching for the same thing: happiness.
