I am so excited to announce the birth of my newest baby…..www.lainaorlando.com! Not only was this an uncomfortable pregnancy, and I have the “mental stretch marks” to prove it, but it was also an exciting experience. The worst part was not getting an epidural! All kidding aside, I am thrilled with the new website. And the team that helped bring it together: Mindy, Director of The Center for Awareness, Bethany, the most amazing writer ever, and Jim Harris, picturethis.org, kept this process fun and exciting.
As I reminisce on my “website experiences” it’s been sweet to look back on my spiritual journey, as it has paralleled my journey onto the world wide web. My first website, thepowerofawareness.com, launched spring 2007, was a reflection of my consciousness at that time. I was a newborn Spiritual Warrior and my website reflected the naiveté and excitement I was experiencing. I created what, at that time, was a great website. I bared my virgin awakened soul in cyberspace. Well, I learned a fair amount from that experience, both spiritually and technologically. Here are a few nuggets:
• Not everyone will be happy with change. Whether it’s my Spiritual growth or with my website.
• Like websites, I can’t be all things to all people.
• When I Shifted and Lifted my consciousness to a new high, an outdated belief, much like a computer virus, snuck up on me and wreaked havoc in my system. So my website and I both spent some “off line” time for much needed technical and emotional repair.
• Consciousness is always expanding….Like technology. Who I was a few weeks ago, let alone two years ago, is so outdated today!
• It was easy to think I had arrived at the “Peak” of Consciousness; after all, I had Awakened and had a groovy website to prove it. Well, like technology, there is no Peak. When I thought I had arrived, life called me forward. Damn…..I just wanted to set up camp and rest for a while!
• Connecting with our True Self, like understanding technology, comes easier to the younger ones….right Bethany?
• Getting stuck and holding on to the past, whether personally or technologically, only hurts us. The rest of the world just keeps on evolving.
• And the biggest lesson of all: If you want to look good in life and on the web, hire a professional photographer…..smile!
In this now moment, I savor the accomplishment of unveiling my new website, fully aware, that like my consciousness, there is no such thing as “arriving.” Life is a journey and it unfolds beautifully, one now moment at a time. Not only do I expect, but I also welcome, many opportunities for growth and improvement.
Although the site is a work in progress, as am I, the site is what it is, and I’m happy where we are today. I do welcome your comments, suggestions and feedback as I believe each and everyone is here to teach us and help us evolve. My consciousness has expanded, in great part, because you are a part of my journey. So too, this new website will continue to ebb and flow, based on your valuable input. The magical thing about expanding our consciousness, as with technology, we must first understand the process then the experience becomes fun and easy.
Thank you for being on this journey with me. We have so much yet to experience, both spiritually and technologically. I, for one, remain open to how life wants to unfold through me and through my website. I trust Life and I sure as heck trust my webmaster, Jim……you rock!
